Our Investment in Caavo

Admittedly, I am a classic, early-adopter device geek. I always need to have the newest device to stream movies and TV shows, play video games and listen to music throughout my house.

Unfortunately, this also means I have dozens of different cords and remote controls that are configured every which way into the back of multiple TVs, gaming consoles, DVRs, and set-top boxes.

And when I add another device to my ever-growing collection, it’s overwhelming for me, my three kids and wife because we all need to re-learn a whole new set of input changes and remotes.

The Problem of Fragmentation in Entertainment Devices

The fragmentation across media and devices is a big problem that many companies have tried to solve with varying degrees of success.

But when my friend, the late Blake Krikorian, told me his idea for how to solve this age old problem, I knew he was on to something special.

I signed on immediately, and Blake began working on Caavo with his co-founders Andrew Einaudi, Ashish Aggarwal and Vinod Gopinath.

Caavo’s Unique Approach to Simplifying Entertainment

Caavo is offering entertainment fans a seamless TV experience.

They aren’t trying to replace your favorite set-top box or gaming console. Instead, Caavo connects all of the devices — pay TV, streaming, and gaming — then unites the experience.

Since installing the beta unit in my home, our entertainment center is simplified beyond measure. It just works — even when we add or remove components.

The beauty of the system is that you can either use the Caavo remote to instantly find and stream any of your favorite content, or you can use the native remote for your preferred device and Caavo will recognize that, too.

The entire Caavo team is world-class; they include veterans from Sling Media, DirecTV, Xbox, and Harman who each have deep experience building and shipping products that people love.
